Subject: FW: Stranded Palestinian Family

I had a phone call from my son, Keith, now back to New Zealand after a holiday in Thailand with his girlfriend. When they were waiting for their flight to NZ at Bangkock airport, they started talking to a family in the airport lounge who said they’d been there for over a week. The family had fled Syria and tried to get into Turkey but were told they could be killed if they tried to cross the border. They hold Palestinian passports and have had these taken off them by the airport authorities – they do not know who to contact for help.
Keith’s g’friend asked for their email address and he’ll fwd this to me tomorrow. Do you have any ideas? This story will probably be repeated several hundred times over as refugees flee from Syria but those with a Palestinian passport are at a huge disadvantage.
Hope you can help.
Best wishes,
Cate.
